The Second Chance Shop of Simsbury is a high-end, boutique style thrift store run by over 100 dedicated volunteers from the Simsbury Auxiliary of the Village for Families and Children.  The store is a dynamic, ever-changing shop containing thousands of pieces of clothing and accessories, household and home decor items, and books.  New merchandise is added to the stores inventory daily, and everything is priced to sell quickly.  The shop features impromptu sales weekly.

All Second Chance Shop profits from the sale of donated merchandise are given to the Village for Families and Children to help support the Villages many services and programs.  It is estimated that the Auxiliary’s donations to the Village have exceeded $2,000,000 over the past 55 years.

The Village for Families and Children is a private non-profit human services organization which for over 200 years has served to protect and nurture children.  The Village serves over 6,000 families in the Greater Hartford area via three core areas: adoption and foster care, children’s behavioral health treatment, and 40 programs and services which support families and children.
