{Chemical Free Lawns}
Wednesday, March 17
7:00 p.m.
Simsbury Farm Apple Barn
Inspired by Connecticut Towns such as Plainville, Cheshire, and Granby using organic gardening practices on town properties, the Farmington River Watershed Association (FRWA) has launched a pesticide-free lawn initiative. FRWA’s efforts are two-fold; to educate homeowners and businesses about the dangers of synthetic pesticide and herbicide uses and to maintain a growing list of home and business owner properties that refuse to use these dangerous and lethal chemicals.
If you are interested in learning about the dangers of synthetic lawn chemicals and how to make your lawn “green” naturally, please come to our March presentation by Aimee Petras of the FRWA. If you are unable to attend, learn more by visiting the FRWA website (www.frwa.org). Click on “Pesticides” for lot of good information. This event is co-sponsored by the Town of Simsbury’s Gifford’s Green Conversations and SLT. RSVP’s are requested.
