Simsbury Newcomers Club will hold a Meet and Greet event on Thursday, March 8, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Simsbury Free Library, 749 Hopmeadow Street. Members, guests and prospective members from Simsburyand the surrounding towns are all invited to socialize and learn more about the Simsburycommunity and to enjoy a short presentation on William Phelps Eno and his contributions to the traffic rules and regulations, which exist today.

The Simsbury Free Library building dates back to 1890 and has housed many community organizations, including the public library, which moved to its new space in 1986. Currently, it houses The Simsbury Genealogical and Historical Research Library and the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce. The building is also home to interesting historical collections that relate to Simsbury residents and their accomplishments.

The Simsbury Newcomers Club is a non-profit organization of more than 130 families, which is open to residents ofSimsbury and of surrounding towns, whether they are newcomers to town or long-time residents. The organization provides an opportunity to expand your circle of friends and to make a difference in the community.
