Friends Music Series: Terry Kitchen – Contemporary Folk Singer-Songwriter

8:00 pm
Simsbury Public Library

Award-winning Boston contemporary folk singer/songwriter, Terry Kitchen’s songs are portraits of ordinary people and emotions, captured with extraordinary compassion, honesty and humor. His wide-ranging songs (from ‘The Seven-Eleven Overture’ about small town life, to ‘The Bonny Lights of Cavendish,’ about English orphans sent to Canada, to ‘Heaven Here on Earth,’ the uplifting title tune of Terry’s 2007 CD), superb guitar playing and offbeat humor guarantee a memorable performance. His latest CD is summer to snowflakes, which reached #27 on the national Folk-DJ airplay chart. His songs have won the Mid-Atlantic and USA Song Contests and been runner-up in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Terry will be joined for his performance by harmony singer Deirdre Bergeron.
