Free Lecture on Digital Photography of Maritime Subjects

This lecture will be presented by Fred LeBlanc, an award winning professional photographer with over thirty years experience. The subjects to be covered: include classic tall ship portraits, image composition, how to tell the whole story, photographing nautical details, and digital image editing software usage. Maritime photography can include the sea, the coast and harbors, ships large and small, sea and shoreline wildlife, and anything else that goes with the sea. This presentation will help photographers make better maritime images.
Mr. LeBlanc’s photographs have been exhibited in museums, libraries, galleries and juried art shows. They have been published on calendars, posters, postcards and most recently as a book entitled “Windjammers Downeast”. His images regularly appear in regional and national publications. He is a member of the Springfield Photographic Society and leads workshops, photo tours and photo cruises off the coast of Maine. His current photographic projects include documenting Maine’s historic windjammer fleet and the natural wonders of the New England landscape.
The lecture will be presented from 7 to 9 PM in the Program Room of the Simsbury Public Library on Oct. 4 and is sponsored by the Simsbury Camera Club. Registration to attend should be made at860 658 7663
